Jargon & Glossary
There are many terms and expressions used in schools that can be hard to understand, here are a few definitions to help you out!
Academy |
An independent state funded school. An academy has more freedom over finance, curriculum and teachers pay and conditions. |

EHCP |
Education, Health and Care plan – previously referred to as a statement (although there is a difference). This is a legally binding document that prescribes clearly the nature of a child’s learning difficulties and the objectives that need to be met in order to ensure that the child concerned makes strong progress. |
